How to stop my miniature pincher puppy stop peeing and pooping in the house ?
Everyday i take my pup outside and does his duty’s but sometimes when i comeback home with him he poops and pees under my bed , rugs, carpets … and when he does that i take a newspaper roll it and hit him on the face or on the backside. But still he doesn’t understand , he thinks it’s a game. What to do besides getting him a crate ?
Sorry, no shortcuts. You need to crate your dog. Don’t just shove him in a crate, though. You need to acclimate him to it. Put him in it for short periods of time while you mimic all the routine of you leaving for the day (grab keys, door, garage door, etc.) Then return and praise him for “holding it” htat whole five minutes or so and take him directly out. Get him used to the idea that you will always return and you will take him directly out when you get home. Gradually legnthen the ammount of time spent in the crate until he is used to the process.
Also, he is not playing any kind of game with you. If he is hiding his poops and peesunder the bed, it is because he’s afraid to potty in front of you, and why not? As far as he can understand he gets hit when you see potty. He’s not associating the punishment with the location, but with the potty itself. He just dosen’t understand that outside is for potty and inside is not.
Even when you are home he should not have free run of the house. He should be gated into the room you are in. Expect to take him out every 30 minutes until he gets the idea. You will need to praise him heartily every time he potties outside, and not give him an opportunity to make a mistake inside.
Your puppy naturally wants to do whatever makes you happy, he just dosen’t know what it is. Theyr’e not born knowing household etiquitte, it is up to us to guide and instruct them. Praise every time he does anything you like. That alone will inspire him to repeat the actions you prefer him to do.
